Pre-fatal classes
Knowledge is Power

Research shows that when someone receives a diagnosis of a terminal or life-limiting illness, both they and their caregivers need clear information about what lies ahead. Whether you've been told you have months or years, the uncertainty can bring waves of anxiety and fear. But knowledge is power—it allows you to make choices that honour your values and priorities, helping you navigate this journey on your terms.

A New Beginning - Part 1

This may be the last chapter of your life—and the opportunity to write that chapter the way you want - and as meaningful as possible for yourselve and the people you love

All you need is a vision and a plan. This course offers a way to prepare for your transition, aiming for completion, happiness, and fulfillment in your final months.

In this free, 7-week online course, you'll meet weekly on Zoom for two hours in a group of 6–8 participants, guided by a physician and trained facilitator.

Through guided meditations, self-reflection, and group discussions, participants set goals and identify concrete actions to prioritize what matters most in the Five Domains of Life:

  • Spiritual: Honoring beliefs and practices

  • Emotional: Nurturing relationships and feelings

  • Mental: Reflecting on legacy

  • Physical: Ensuring comfort and a healing environment

  • Practical: Making after-death arrangements

A New Beginning Without End  Part 2

"We are not human beings on a spiritual journey.  We are spiritual beings on a human journey." - Pierre Teilhard De Chardin

A terminal illness diagnosis can feel like losing a part of yourself. So much of our identity is tied to what we do; as our abilities change, we may wonder, “Who am I now?”

This free, 8-week online group course offers a compassionate, supportive space for people facing a terminal diagnosis to connect, share, and find joy in our common humanity. Together, we explore spirituality and mindfulness, and topics such as grief, loss and self-compassion.

Our goal is to help you reconnect with your inner spirit and support each other in finding meaning in living, even as we journey together toward life’s end.

Each week, we meet on Zoom for two hours. The first hour includes a physician-led session with 12–14 participants, followed by an hour in smaller groups of 6–8 for deeper discussion and support, facilitated by a physician and therapist.

The course also includes an optional in-person retreat day with a sound journey, meditation, and opportunities for meaningful connection.
